Correct Answer: C. A, C and D are correct.

Explanation: The Kashmir Himalaya (westernmost part of the Himalayas) is known for its lacustrine (lake) deposits, locally called ‘Karewas’. Karewas are thick deposits of glacial clay, silt, sand, and gravel, found in the Valley of Kashmir. These deposits were formed due to the upliftment of the Pir Panjal range which blocked the ancient lakes, leading to sedimentation. Agricultural importance: Karewas are highly fertile — ideal for growing saffron, almonds, apples, and walnuts. Duns are narrow longitudinal valleys found between the Lesser Himalayas and the Shivalik Range. They are formed by the deposition of sediments carried by rivers from the higher ranges. Examples: Dehradun, Kotli Dun, Patli Dun, Chaukham Dun, Nalagarh Dun, etc. Among all these, the Dehradun Valley (Dun) — between the Lesser Himalaya and Shivalik — is the largest and most prominent Dun. The Namcha Barwa Peak is located at the eastern end of the Himalayas. It lies near the great bend of the Brahmaputra River, where the river turns from west to south to enter India through Arunachal Pradesh. This region is called the Arunachal (or Purvanchal) Himalaya. The ‘Valley of Flowers National Park’ is located in the Garhwal Himalaya(Uttarakhand Himalaya) region of Uttarakhand, near Joshimath in Chamoli district. It is known for its alpine meadows, rare Himalayan flora, and UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
